Happy Holidays!
To kick off the holiday season, the annual Aiming for a Cure Foundation Shopping Spree took place on Thursday, November 7th. Founders, Steve and Jodie Ries, were joined by patients and families on a $5,000 shopping spree at the Blairs Ferry Road NE Walmart store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“This is definitely one of the most fun things we get to do each year,” said Steve Ries, Aiming for a Cure Foundation president. “We have a great time with these amazing kids and their incredible families buying toys to help others enjoy the Christmas season.”
The annual Shopping Spree is one of many events held each year by the Aiming for a Cure Foundation to help children being treated for cancer and the families who support them. The toys purchased as part of the Shopping Spree are donated for use on floors where all the children undergoing cancer treatment are housed in hospitals.
The Aiming for a Cure Foundation Mission
The mission of the Aiming For a Cure Foundation is to raise funds to benefit pediatric oncology patients and families dealing with difficult times and decisions in our local communities. Our goal is to improve the quality of care and quality of lives of these children and families through the funding of research, non-insured expenses and patient care.
