Jack Campbell was the all-time leading tackler for a season and for his career at Cedar Falls High School, earning All-State honors twice and was selected as the class 4A all-state team captain. In 2019 he joined the Hawkeyes and made an immediate impact from the linebacker position, playing in 11 games his freshman year. In 2021, for his efforts, he was named All-Big 10 first team. He followed this with a stellar senior campaign that led to numerous awards and recognitions, including first-team all Big Ten and Defensive Player of the Year, Unanimous Consensus All-American, and Butkus Award winner given to the nation’s best linebacker. Jack was also awarded the 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership. Jack was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL.
