Lon Olejniczak was a four-year letterman and standout at the University of Iowa. A native of Decorah, he excelled in three sports in high school and earned All-American honors in baseball. At Iowa, Lon played both football and baseball, serving as a three-year starter for the baseball team and contributing in multiple positions on the football field. He played multiple positions, including receiver, defensive back, tight end, and wingback, catching 23 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns, and also served as a punt return specialist. Following his athletic career, Lon has enjoyed a highly successful career in the insurance and financial services industry, holding senior executive roles including Senior Vice President at Transamerica and Global Head of Development for Aegon in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2014, he was inducted into the IHSAA Baseball Hall of Fame.
