Marshal Yanda attended Anamosa High School, where he was a multi-sport standout in football, basketball, and track & field. In football, he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection. He eventually selected the Hawkeyes after two years at NIACC and was named a third-team All-American by The NFL Draft Report in 2006 and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the league’s coaches. Marshall was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round (86th overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft. Playing for the Ravens, he continued a stellar career that included 6 Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl championship. He was consecutively ranked the #1 guard by Pro Football Focus in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and was ranked 37th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016. After retiring in 2020, Marshal was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team after playing 13 seasons, all for the Ravens. In 2022, Marshal was inducted into the Baltimore Ravens Ring of Honor.
